Reading through the Box of Chocolates’ blog, I found their honesty very refreshing and nice. Her post “The Worst Class I Have Ever Taught…So What?” was really nice to read. Since I am going to start teaching in a couple years, I am always so worried about being observed and completely messing up! It was really nice to hear that a teacher who has been working for 20 or so year still has a bad day and messes up. She goes on to explain that she left the classroom not feeling devastated, but ok. She was frustrated and upset with herself, but she knew she was a good teacher. It taught me that I have to have confidence in myself and not beat myself up over a bad day. I have to be able to reflect on not only what I did bad, but also what I did well. All teachers are going to have bad days, and that doesn’t make you a bad teacher.
